When did you realize that you wanted to be a financial advisor?

While working as an assistant to an Advisor, we were meeting with a perspective client who recently lost her husband.  The sense of her loss and being lost in all the financial details was overwhelming for her.  It was at that moment that I wanted to take her by the hand and let her know she wasn’t alone and that I could help her get through all the decisions that needed to be made.

How you have helped women become more confident in managing and investing their money?

When working with widows or divorcees, there are underlying emotions, mostly fear, about having enough money in the future.  Once I can illustrate their financial future on paper, it creates a sense of calm for them.  I’ve had many clients start to cry once they know that they “will not being living in a cardboard box,” as one client said.

What impression do you hope to make on others?

That I am passionate about what I do and I never made them hesitate to ask a question. I hope that my clients know to come to me with any financial question and that I will work closely with them to help accomplish their goals.

What do you hope to accomplish through Her Wealth?

I am most excited about establishing an endowment that will support women who want to be financial advisors, CPAs or other financial professionals for years to come. I hope that we can make the path for young women to have a career in finance more attainable.
