Chief Compliance Officer


Marla Roeser is a seasoned compliance and risk management specialist who serves as our Chief Compliance Officer. Her approach to compliance is client-centered and focused on ensuring that our fiduciary duty to our clients is fulfilled.

Having spent over 15 years in the wealth management and financial services industry performing regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, operational due diligence, audits and risk mitigation, Marla establishes best practices, internal controls and oversight for our regulatory compliance program. She believes that a strong compliance culture that holds to the highest level of the fiduciary standard is not only good for clients, but is essential to operate a well-managed and thriving firm.

Prior to working for Bridgewater Wealth, Marla was the Director of Compliance and Risk Management for a Washington, D.C. based wealth management firm that served ultra-high-net-worth clients. She was also an Attorney-Examiner for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission performing examinations of investment advisors, hedge funds and registered investment companies.

Marla earned her Bachelor of Arts, Law and Society degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, California, and her Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law, Malibu, California.

She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences such as the Investment Advisor Association Industry Conference and the ACA Compliance Group Conference where she shares both her technical expertise and practical ways to implement compliance rules and regulations into a living, breathing organization.

Marla has an ongoing commitment to community service and serves as the president of her daughters’ school’s foundation. She also volunteers at the Boys and Girls Club and Manna. She and her husband are busy raising two young, precocious daughters.

Fun Fact

Marla loves the ocean and is a California girl at heart. After overcoming her sheer terror of scuba diving and diving with her husband several times—even once with sharks—she prefers to stay on the surface and snorkel.
